EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Charles Seelig and the Town of East Bridgewater are pleased to announce the formation of a new Traffic Advisory Committee.
The committee will study critical issues, hear public testimony, perform independent research, and review staff reports and recommendations regarding all traffic, pedestrian, safety improvements, and transportation issues relating to public ways in East Bridgewater.
It will consist of seven members: the Department of Public Works director, police chief, fire chief, and building commissioner (or their designees), the assistant town administrator, and two appointed Town residents.
Interested East Bridgewater residents can fill out a Traffic Advisory Committee Application form and email it to lnguyen@eastbridgewaterma.gov or deliver it directly to the East Bridgewater Select Board office at Town Hall, 175 Central St., East Bridgewater. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and appointed residents will serve a three-year term.
The committee will not have the authority to distribute resources or approve projects, but a chairperson and secretary will be chosen to represent them and communicate ideas directly to the Select Board.
“We are thrilled to announce this new committee that we hope can make a major difference in the community,” Town Administrator Seelig said. “Ultimately, I believe this committee will help to create safer roads and instill positive change in a sector that deserves more attention.”
